Hello, here’s your Aviation Briefing for Wednesday 4 May 2022

We begin in Australia, where flag carrier Qantas has confirmed an Airbus long-haul jet order as it prepares to launch the world’s longest nonstop flights, such as London-Sydney – a 20-hour journey. Qantas confirmed its order for twelve Airbus A350-1000s which will be used for multiple ultra-long-haul non-stop flights from 2025.

What’s the A350-1000? It’s the Airbus flagship long-haul jet that will join Qantas’ fleet and ultimately be able to fly non-stop from Australia to almost any city in the world. It first flew with launch customer, Qatar Airways, and is now in service with multiple airlines including Cathay Pacific, and Virgin Atlantic.
